From my initial impressions, it is a bit more varied. You now have two resources to keep track instead of one (in addition to tech tiers as well), and the leaders' powers are a bit more diverse. There's also a slightly more flushed out population system as well as more relevant unit information (like actual depictions of effectiveness against other classes of units.)The only downgrade I've noticed so far is that many of the units have less upgrades than in Halo Wars 1, with some not even having any upgrades to research. While the Infantry/Vehicle/Aerial/Base upgrade tree alleviates this somewhat, I still miss the full plethora of unit upgrades from the first game.I also miss having three Spartans at once in regular death match as well.:3. But it's fundamentally used differently.

That's a resource in the traditional sense of RTS.There was one resource in the traditional, deplete-able, sense in Halo Wars 1, generated through supply pads. Notably, that is the commonly gathered resource between the two factions. For the UNSC, they had reactors to build up tech levels, with 4 being the max required. Anything beyond was redundant and a waste of resources as their costs increased with each successive build and upgrade. The Covenant side simply upgrade their tiers through the temple and had 3, if I recall correctly. But either way, they were achieved differently, but merely opened up new options in construction, but did not aide in actually constructing the unit.In Halo Wars 2, energy and supplies are paid to upgrade units and construct them, with access to different tiers being done through different routes.So fundamentally, there has not always been two resources in the games.

Please log in to vote.This is my no-skull Legendary walkthrough for this mission. If you use easier skulls or an easier difficulty, you will get this MUCH easier, but I was going for the true experience on my first run through without any skulls.I found this oddly enough to be quite easy.

It was a constant, frantic pace for the entire mission. I'm very good at looking at many things at once rapidly, and frenetic RTS gameplay.
